    The Family History Library has many of the records listed in this outline. The major holdings include vital, census, military, land, and probate records. The library also has local histories and several important genealogical collections. Some of the sources described in this outline list the Family History Library's book. Procedures have been streamlined so that one unacquainted with library technical processes can follow directions and organize library resources in an accessible way. A list of standard Bible reference books has been included for the purpose of assisting in classification and in assigning subject headings.
